Sharing London landmarks via Instagram.
We have just returned from an end of summer family trip to one of my favourite cities in the world. I love London for so many reasons – the unique city vibe that is like nowhere else in the world, the west-end theatre district, and the sense of history that the city exudes just to name a few.
I also love seeing and photographing the city’s landmarks that are recognizable around the world. This was the first trip that I’ve taken since I started using Instagram a few weeks ago and I enjoyed sharing our London experience on the go and playing a bit with the filters to enhance the iPhone pics of my favourite London landmarks.
Buckingham Palace
Palace of Westminster and Big Ben
London Eye
St. Paul’s Cathedral and Millennium Bridge
Tower Bridge
Kensington Palace
Royal Albert Hall
The British Museum
The National Gallery/Trafalgar Square
Covent Garden
I will have more about our London trip soon but in the meantime you can always read about our last trip to London!

I loved following your trip on Instagram!!

Every time I see pics of the London Eye I have a panic attack, and your photo is no exception. However the rest of the photos, especially the one of Buckingham Palace are made so great with those ominous clouds and dark sky. Lovely.

Thanks, Katja – I didn’t want to come home!!
Lisa Goodmurphy
Thanks!! I don’t think that you would panic if you were on the London Eye – the pods are huge so it’s like being in a room with a view over London. And if you were to ask my 10 year old, she’d tell you that it moves excruciatingly slow! π

Nice, you certainly covered all the key places and seemed to have had pretty good weather too! I have yet to show to the delights of London to my three London-born kids…
Nicole
OK, very cool post! Thank you for sharing. I love landmarks and this was right up my alley!
Lisa Goodmurphy
The weather was quite good – we were there 9 days and had 2 days of rain and 7 absolutely gorgeous days! This was our second family trip to London and my girls love it as much as I do – your kids can’t help but be entranced when you show them the sights!
Lisa Goodmurphy
Thanks, Nicole!!

I love the landmarks! I can never get good pictures of buildings in cities, too many people to work around.

Love your images- especially the one of the London Eye. It has been too long since I spent any time in London–one of these days I hope to get back.

Oh I so love London – I went there when I was 18 for about two months!! It was so very cold, and the sky was grey all of the time, but I do remember the gorgeous tourist spots. And the country side – nothing like it ever.
Off to check out your photos on Instagram π

London is an amazing city to visit and to live in even with the rain. I moved away from London a couple of years ago and this has brought back some lovely memories. Did you manage to get to see a performance in the Royal Albert Hall? It is one of my favourite venues I have been to, Stunning decorations inside
Leigh
I have yet to join Instagram but am contemplating it, You did a great job with your photos -especially like the London Eye one. Looks like you covered a lot of ground on your trip!

Wouldn’t it be nice just to be able to just move the people out of the way?!? π
Lisa Goodmurphy
Thanks, Mary! There was a bit of shopping done but fortunately the damage wasn’t too great! π
Lisa Goodmurphy
Thanks, Marisol!! We had a wonderful time – it was just over too quickly!

Didn’t see a performance at the Royal Albert. Unfortunately, it hadn’t occurred to me ahead of time as we were seeing a number of shows in the west end. It’s on my list for next visit!
Lisa Goodmurphy
Thanks, Leigh! I just started on Instagram mid-summer and I really like it so far. Love seeing everyone’s photos as they are traveling!

You have some nice photographs of London. And I would not be surprised if you love London because the city seems lovely and the landmarks are remarkable. It is so nice that you captured Palace of Westminster and Big Ben in the pictures. I hope that I will get a chance to visit London someday.
