International Women’s Day is an appropriate time for us to recognize the Canadian women who fought for equality rights early in the 20th century and to ensure that our daughters understand the importance of what these women did. The Women Are Persons monument on Parliament Hill in Ottawa is a good starting point for this discussion with our children.
